SC30 | SL30 | Spring clamp terminal blocks with compression contacts for PCB contacting without pin headers

Task

Compact wall-mounted devices and flush-mounted devices in sandwich construction with limited space on the circuit board.

Solution

There are no vias or PCB holes required, so the opposite side of the PCB offers more space for electronics. This allows the packing density of the circuit board to be increased. Due to the contact system integrated in the terminal, the pin headers are omitted, the contact is made directly on a circuit board pad. This means cost advantages through component savings. The savings in components also reduce process costs such as Warehousing, assembly, handling, etc.

Advantages

  • connection convenience through push-in technology
  • cost advantages, since a second component (e.g. pin or jack strip) is required
  • reduced process costs
  • no drilling and no through-hole plating required on the circuit board
  • low construction height enables a flatter design
  • contacting the circuit board is self-cleaning due to the punctual  contact of the compression contacts
  • easiest assembly due to the elimination of insertion and removal forces
  • spring contact resets (maintenance-free)
  • high holding force of the conductor even with vibrations no soldering process is required for wire-to-board applications
