Automated Infrastructure Management
The patch management system is an automated infrastructure management (AIM) system from METZ CONNECT. It is used for the automated monitoring and administration of the network infrastructure, planning and generation of work orders for network connections and the documentation of the connections in the structured premises and data center cabling, through active detection of the connectors in a passive patch field. The system is based on RFID technology and basically consists of various hardware components for network technology, RFID tags and RFID sensor strips, bus cabling and software for administration. The information about the complete patch management system and thus about the connections in the racks is automatically sent to a higher-level management software using the hardware. In this PM software, the PM hardware and the complete network infrastructure are visually represented, documented and managed.
