BMT-Multi I/O

BACnet MS/TP Multi I/O for automation in buildings, facilities and systems

I/O components with BACnet MS/TP

In order to operate infrastructure systems in large and small buildings safely and cost-effectively, it is essential that the most important operational functions such as system monitoring, air conditioning, ventilation and lighting are automated. This increases the demands on the functions of the building installation, which can usually only be implemented with great effort using conventional technology. For this reason, building automation is relying more and more on serial bus systems that transfer information between sensors and actuators, switches and higher-level control systems.

Bus systems like BACnet MS/TP offer various advantages:

  • Simplified planning and installation of building functions
  • High flexibility in the use of the building, as the functions are freely configurable and can therefore be set and readjusted at any time and as required.

BACnet (Building Automation Control Network) is a neutral communication standard and has quickly become the world standard for building automation. The METZ CONNECT BACnet MS/TP I/O components support master-slave and token-passing field bus communication based on the RS485 data transmission interface.

Product information

The BACnet module BMT-Multi I/O is a compact and quickly installable solution to connect digital and analog signals from the actuator and sensor level via the BACnet MS/TP protocol directly to a control unit in building automation. 29 partially configurable I/Os are available for various tasks. The inputs and outputs can be controlled and queried via standard objects using a BACnet client. The module address and bit rate are set via two rotary switches on the front panel. The K1-K4 relays are equipped with a manual operating level and allow manual intervention. They are suitable for decentralized mounting on TH35 mounting rail according to IEC 60715 in electrical distribution boards.
