IDC type terminal blocks

The product family of IDC terminals comprises terminals based on the principle that stripping of conductors is no longer required. This means that an electrical connection is established by cutting the insulation of the individual conductor in the terminal block by means of an insulation displacement contact. The insulation material must be PVC or another material with properties that are suitable for the insulation displacement process, i.e. it must be possible to completely displace the insulation material by the inner edges of the insulation displacement contact without causing any damage to the conductor. In case of wire-strand conductors, the insulating cover must also be capable to hold the individual conductors in their position so that they are not improperly displaced during the connection process.

  • solderable

Our range of solderable terminals comprises terminals for the "reflow" and the "wave soldering" methods. The terminals are plugged into the PCB and then soldered.
